Moon Taxi Under The Moon At Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre

American Indie-Alternative Rock band, Moon Taxi, made their way through Wilmington, North Carolina for an outdoor show at Greenfield Lake Amphitheatre. Located in the heart of Wilmington, this gorgeous venue lays beside a calm lake and tall trees. Needless to say the vibes were high when they took the stage.

Supporting Moon Taxi was LUTHI, out of Nashville, Tennessee. Influenced by Soul and R&B acts of the 1960’s, a taste of Psychedelic tunes from the 70’s, and 80’s Rock and Roll, this band was the perfect opening act for Moon Taxi. LUTHI began seven years ago when Christian Luthi grew weary of his life in Wisconsin so he set out for Nashville, where he still lives today. That’s where he met his friend Ivey and the two of them started out small playing house shows for friends. Soon after became LUTHI which was initiated by Moon Taxi’s own, Wes Bailey. Now with a full band, it’s only fitting that they do a tour together.

Just in time for a gorgeous sunset, Moon Taxi was hitting the stage. Moon Taxi was founded in 2006 by Trevor Terndrup, Tommy Putnam, Spencer Thomson, Tyler Ritter, and Wes Bailey while attending Belmont University. The night before the show on April 18th, 2019, Moon Taxi  was announced as the opening act for Day One of the 2019 NFL Draft, located in Nashville. And the night of the show at midnight released two singles, “Now’s The Time” and “This World” which they performed at the show.

As a fan in the crowd you could hear people commenting on how hard these guys were rocking out. Covering songs by Queen and other artists, Moon Taxi really put on an amazing performance. Taking the horn section from LUTHI, they performed their new singles along with a few other of their songs. They even eventually played Old Town Road the remix and the crowd went wild. Next time Moon Taxi is in an area near you, do not hesitate to buy tickets because you will not be disappointed.
